Flowers on the balcony

Question: What to put on a balcony for the summer

Dear editor,
I am passionate about growing plants and flowers and having an 8 meter long balcony with a planter I would like to suggest to you what is best to plant for the period from spring to late summer.
I remind you that the balcony is half-full on exposure to full sun and half to half-light or shade.
thanking you in advance for your appearance. reply to my email.

Flowers on the balcony: Answer: What to put on a balcony for the summer

Dear Roberto,
the alternatives are many.
If you want something that comes down you can use traditional climbing geraniums or surfines, both available in many varieties and colors.
If instead you want something that grows upwards, in the sunny area begoniette, petunias and new guinea grow well, while in the shaded area the caroline.
If you want you can use intermediate solutions. An interesting solution could be this: use red climbing geraniums (Parisian) interspersed with del bidens (yellow). These two essences will fall downwards. In order not to leave the upper part completely bare, you can plant lobelia (blue) or calceolaria (yellow). This solution will allow you to have a flowered balcony from April to October-November.
In any case, we will certainly include some solutions for terraces and balconies in the March-April issue.
Thank you for writing us. Don't hesitate to do it whenever you want. In particular, if you want to know other types of less known annual plants than the traditional ones that I have indicated to you, do not hesitate to rewrite us. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
See you soon.
